Reggae Geel 2025: The First Names Are In – Let’s Get This Party Started!
Reggae Geel is back and ready to set the summer on fire! From August 1st to 2nd, Europe's baddest reggae festival returns, bringing together legends, rising stars, and the purest vibes. But why wait for the weekend? We’re kicking things off early with a FREE launch party on Thursday, July 31st—because the vibes can’t be limited to just two days.
Beware, this is just the first wave of artists. We’re only getting started. More names will drop soon, but let’s dive into the heavy hitters already locked in.
First Artists Announced!
Protoje – One of the fiercest voices of the modern reggae revival, Protoje has been nominated for a Grammy and helped redefine roots reggae for a new generation. Known for hits like Who Knows with Chronixx, Protoje continues to push reggae into new territory. At Reggae Geel, he will be backed by his band The Indiggnation.
Steel Pulse – Pioneers of British roots reggae, they were the first non-Jamaican act to win a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. Known for their powerful anti-racist anthems, they were once banned from performing in their home city of Birmingham for their activism. Currently on their 50th anniversary tour!
Typhoon – One of the Netherlands' most profound lyricists, Typhoon delivers poetry with a punch. After overcoming burnout, he made a triumphant return with Lichthuis, a soul-stirring album that blends grooves with philosophical reflections. His live shows? Pure therapy for the soul.
Sister Nancy – The original dancehall queen and the voice behind Bam Bam—the most sampled reggae song ever, featured in everything from Kanye West’s Famous to Jay-Z’s BAM. She is a legend second to none, with a story that is as powerful as her stage presence.
Scientist – A true mad genius of dub, Scientist got his name because of his groundbreaking studio experiments at just 16 years old. His live sets are otherworldly, with deep bass, echoing effects, and pure dub wizardry.
’t Hof van Commerce – West-Flemish hip-hop with a twist! These Belgian rap icons have been spitting sharp, witty lyrics since the ’90s, all in their native dialect. This will be their first-ever set at Reggae Geel.
Kybba – The genre-bending producer who’s making serious waves. From collaborations with dancehall stars to creating beats that light up afrobeat and reggaeton dance floors, Kybba has over 100 million streams under his belt—and counting.
Mortimer – Jamaica’s soulful crooner. Mortimer's emotional ballad Lightning became a viral hit, but did you know he almost quit music entirely before recording it? Lucky for us, he didn’t. Expect goosebumps when he hits those high notes live. His recent album “From Within” was awarded Best Reggae Album of the Year 2024!
Ijahman Levi – A spiritual giant of roots reggae, Ijahman Levi’s music goes beyond sound. Fun fact: He was signed to Island Records in the ’70s by Chris Blackwell himself, the same man who discovered Bob Marley.
Good Vibes Shouldn’t Break the Bank
In a world where everything keeps getting more expensive, we keep it simple. Weekend tickets are still only €95—because we believe everyone deserves a chance to dance, connect, and feel the positive vibrations. Locals can join in even cheaper: they pay just €60 for a weekend ticket! Now that’s a bargain…
